Earned Weekends.
The weekends we earn are more than time off. They’re the hours we make room for—the woods before first light, time on the water, smoke rolling from the fire, a race under the lights or a full weekend at the track, and one more chair pulled up around the campfire.
They aren’t an escape from life. They’re part of what makes it worth the work.
There’s no one way to earn a weekend.
It might start before daylight at the boat ramp. It might be a morning in the woods, a campsite coming to life, a smoker lit before sunrise, a Saturday night at the dirt track, or a full weekend parked at a speedway. Sometimes it’s nothing more than a fire, a table, and people staying a little longer.
What matters isn’t where you go. It’s that the time was earned, used well, and shared with the people who matter.
There’s room for one more chair.
An Earned Weekend is rarely just about the place or the plan. It’s the people around the fire, the hands passing a plate, the stories told after dark, and the invitation that keeps the circle open.
Around here, there’s always room for one more chair.
The weekend ends. What it gives us stays.
The smell of smoke on a jacket. Mud on a pair of boots. A photo on the fridge. A story that gets told again. A place the kids remember years later.
That’s the point. Earned Weekends become the traditions, objects, and stories worth carrying forward.
See you out there.
The Field Journal is where we keep the stories, places, people, and things that make up our Earned Weekends.
